SAMSUNG UNVEILS ‘MY GALAXY’ SMARTPHONE APP 

Samsung launches new app to help customers get the most from their smartphone

 18 September 2013, London, UK: Samsung Electronics today announced the launch of My Galaxy, an application to help Samsung Galaxy owners get the most from their smartphones. The content of the app is uniquely tailored to offer the most personalised customer experience. Created in collaboration with Monitise Create, Europe’s leading mobile innovation agency, My Galaxy is packed full of features that truly unlock the benefits of being a Samsung customer.

Customers can take advantage of a range of exclusive offers from film and music content, to tickets for live events. They will be able to learn about the latest accessories for any Samsung smartphone through the app’s m-commerce storefront, with access to over 300 products and real-time stock availability.

My Galaxy will tell customers about the latest software updates and connect devices with interactive walk-throughs, and also clear up any questions they may have about the services and features of their Galaxy smartphone with the app’s on-device assistant, powered by Google Voice.

Which devices can download  My Galaxy app?
Available to download from Google Play now for Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Fame and Galaxy S III Mini customers. My Galaxy will be pre-installed on devices sold in the UK later in 2013.

Samsung showcase their S4 collection with a variety of leading influencers

Samsung has created some short videos with leading influencers in a variety of fields, including magician Pete Hathway, freerunner Paul Parkour and fashion blogger Camilla Ackley, to showcase their Galaxy S4 Collection.

Debuting on the Samsung Mobile UK YouTube channel, are the first twelve pieces of content from collaborators, with the site set to be populated with additional content over the coming weeks. The showcase so far includes;

  • One of the world’s best BMX park riders, Harry Main, showing off the Slow Motion Mode of the Galaxy S4’s 13MP camera to full effect by capturing some of his moves
  • F2 freestylers, Jeremy and Billy, use the Galaxy Mega to capture some point of view shots of their latest choreographed routines
  • Fashion blogger Camilla Ackley scouting out locations in Notting Hill for her blog, Into The Fold, using her Galaxy S4 Mini to capture inspiration through photos and videos
  • Aardman Animation designer Gavin Strange filming a ‘music video’ using the dual camera functionality on his Galaxy S4
  • Freerunner and photography enthusiast Paul Parkour capturing his latest freerunning jaunt on his Galaxy S4 Active
  • ‘Rock and roll’ magician Pete Hathway incorporating his Galaxy S4 Mini into his magic tricks as he takes to the streets of  Edinburgh
  • London-based DJ and rapper Shadez The Misfit recording his latest studio session using both cameras on his Galaxy S4
  • Food blogger Crummbs capturing a range of dishes from her favourite restaurants on her Galaxy S4 Mini
  • Make-up artist and body painter Isamaya Ffrench recording time-lapsed footage of the creation of her latest face painting using her Galaxy S4
  • Brazilian artist Mateus Bailon filming his latest piece of street art for the Global Street Art Project on his Galaxy Mega
